Carousel activities help to teach lots of new techniques in one lesson. This approach is best used in a whole morning or afternoon session helping to reduce setting up and packing away time.
I aimed to inspire the children with pictures and placed these at the middle of each table. As the children rotated between each table they were then inspired from each other's work. Resources are spread across the table and the children can use the materials they like.
I encouraged the children to explore and experiment with the materials and only modelled a couple of things, such as, sticking parts together with masking tape and using wire to wrap items together. The rest is up to the children where their creativity kicks in.
